When Jay Hachey first laid eyes on the Trans4mer Garage/Wash Bay, he knew he was looking at something special.

“It’s mobile, it’s quick to open, and it’s easy to close,” says Hachey who heads

sales and marketing for Canadian-based One4Haul Trans4mer Ltd. “One person, one truck, one hour.”

The Trans4mer Garage/Wash Bay was launched at the Global Petroleum Show in Calgary in June 2010, is now on tour, and

will be appearing at the Oil Sand Trade Show and Conference from September 14 to 15. Hachey says dozens of companies have expressed an interest in the Trans4mer and Bear Splashing Ltd. of Alberta has already purchased units.

“The interest is growing rapidly because of the various needs and direction of how to do

business is going toward better and faster in an environmentally-friendly fashion,” he says.

Born from the close study of the worksite needs of a variety of industries from oil and gas to construction, the Trans4mer Garage/Wash Bay is a versatile portable building that has variety of uses ranging from providing a temperature-controlled working area for work site staff to offering the opportunity to have an on-site assembly line. This innovation also offers its very own four-ton overhead crane and built-in wash bay for safely clean equipment right on site.

“The floor built as tank will drastically lower the risk of spills into the surrounding environment and the work-site mechanics will be able to work with no worries of contaminating the soil,” Hachey says.

The Trans4mer Garage/Wash Bay is transported by truck and spans 9.1 metres wide, 12.2 metres wide and and six metres high (30 feed wide, 40 feet long, and 20 feet high) when fully opened. Customers benefit from the unique design of the floor as a tank, the product’s rigidity and the ruggedness of the entire unit. The Trans4mer Garage/Wash Bay provides a floor that can support 40,000 kilograms (90,000 pounds), a four-ton overhead crane and a facility that is unsulated and heated. There is also a generator provided that makes the building self-sufficient.

“The downtime of the equipment will be greatly reduced by having mechanics and equipment readily available,” says Hachey. “Just think of the overhead crane. No service truck can provide such and essential tool. There will also be a

major reduction in transportation for “out of order” equipment because the garage is on site.”

He adds that the specific design of the floor as a tank will also protect businesses from costly spills and eliminate the need to travel long distances for equipment cleaning because of increasing requirements for equipment to be spotless before leaving a worksite.

“By combining the garage ans wash bay as a unit, companies will not have the option of cleaning their equipment right on site,” says Hachey.

The Trans4mer Garage/Wash Bay also provides optional additional items available at extra cost such as attached tool boxes, attached work tables, and welding equipment.
